| The Sensors |
| The sensors are
plug-in type precalibrated sensors with the sensor data being
programmed into the EEPROMs. The sensor software is protected. The
instrument automatically recognizes sensor type, measuring range and
alarm levels thus enabling the user simply to connect the sensors and
start measurement after a respective warm-up period.
The issue of cross sensitivities in regards to electrochemical sensors is important. By their nature, electrochemical sensors often exhibit sensitivity to more than one gas. We have greatly reduced inherent cross-sensitivities in DrägerSensors by carefully selecting a so-called bias voltage. Except for a few examples, this cross-sensitivity is positive. This means that you are always on the safe side because you will receive an early warning. In those cases where you wish to avoid cross-sensitivities, we offer a wide selection of filters. Due to defined cross-sensitivities some of these sensors can be recalibrated to other gases. |
