The System
The Dräger CMS incorporates the needs of the customer with the power of intelligent technology. It is one of the most accurate and reliable spot measurement systems for gas and vapor concentrations. The system consists of two components:

The analyzer and substance-specific chips

The analyzer is the measurement and evaluation instrument for the system. A variety of chips, serve as chemical sensors which provide the system the flexibility to measure various gases and vapours. It doesn't matter if the sample is an easily determined vapour such as hydrochloric acid, or a selective and sensitive measurement such as benzene, the measurement procedure is unchanged. Additionally, the intelligent interaction between chip and analyzer ensures a high level of accuracy and reliability.

The basis of the Chip Measurement System is the combination of electronics, optics, chemical reagent systems, and a special pump system. With this combination, the Dräger CMS represents the new standard for the spot measurement of gases and vapors.
Accuracy - mass-flow regulated pump (compensation for pressure fluctuation)
- optical and electronic measurement evaluation results displayed in digital readout
- intelligent measurement principle
- well-known and controllable cross-sensitivity
Reliability - automatic system self-check
- calibrated chips
- chip life: 2 years
- robust analyzer
Simple Operation - straight forward menu commands in backlighted display
- system recognizes the measurement task (gas type, measurement range, calibration)
- identical measurement procedure for all gases and vapors
- one-switch operation
- display text available in multiple languages
Economical - low training costs
- no calibration of chips necessary
- immediately available for measurement (no waiting for warm-up)
- time savings from quick measurements
- flexibility (use same instrument for many gases)
Environmental- -friendly - material reduction
- less chemical reagent in the system
Easy Operation

The Dräger CMS can be implemented with a minimum of training costs. One reason for this is that the measurement procedure is always the same, regardless of the gas or vapor to be measured. Straightforward menu commands and one-switch operation further simplify the measurement procedure. Display backlit is available with text in English, French, German, or Spanish, or other languages on request.

Once the analyzer is switched on, it performs a system self-test and is immediately ready for use. A chip is inserted into the analyzer and the measurement process begins after a chip integrity test. The measurement result is displayed as a concentration on the digital readout. After the measurement is complete, another measurement can be made, or the analyzer may be switched off, which automatically ejects the chip. A tone signal will sound at the end of each measurement cycle.

The power supply is derived from four common, easily replaceable batteries (see technical data). The battery capacity corresponds to a measurement time of over seven hours. Available battery capacity will be displayed in the digital readout every time the analyzer is turned on.
